Britton Cove

A careful balance of contemporary form and natural surroundings

Modern mountain retreat
3,500 square feet
Weaverville, NC

This mountaintop home reflects a careful balance of contemporary form and natural surroundings. The exterior pairs warm vertical wood siding with striking black accents and a low-pitched roofline that complements the ridgeline views rather than competing with them.

Approaching the entry, a poured concrete drive and a linear paver inlay give way to a front door framed by clerestory glass—an intentional reveal of the mountain vistas visible through the home.

Inside, the great room is anchored by a full-height black tile fireplace and wrapped in floor-to-ceiling glass that captures the landscape from nearly every angle. The ceilings are subtly paneled in natural wood, adding visual warmth while maintaining the clean lines of the overall structure.

The interiors are streamlined but carefully layered. Rift-cut white oak floors run throughout, tying together the open-plan kitchen, living, and dining spaces. The kitchen itself features custom cabinetry, a large stone island, and flush-set appliances integrated for both form and function.

Just off the kitchen, a generous walk-in pantry and adjacent built-in workstation show attention to flow and utility. Details like the soft-close hardware, slab backsplash, and clear-glass pendant lighting suggest luxury without ostentation.
